Doug Ivey was born and raised in Athens, and is the son of the late Hazel W. Ivey and the late Marion C. Ivey, Sr. He has been married to the former Angela Zeigler of Rincon, Georgia, for almost 39 years. They have 3 grown children and four grandchildren. Their eldest son Marshall is a Pediatrician practicing in Milledgeville, GA.; daughter Olivia is the law Librarian at the Department of Labor in Washington, DC, and their son Teddy is an educator at the Georgia Sea Turtle on Jekyll Island.
Doug is a 23 year veteran of ministry, and has served three churches as well as working as a family counselor with The Potter's House, a Christian drug and alcohol rehabilitation center for men.
Doug holds a Bachelor’s degree in Child and Family Development and a Master’s degree in clinical Social Work; both from the University of Georgia, and has experience as a Family Therapist. He also holds a Master’s degree in Divinity from Mercer University’s McAfee School of Theology.

Katie Gibson is the youth director at FCC Watkinsville. Katie is a registered nurse working at Egleston Children's Hospital in Atlanta. She and her husband Bryant Gibson have a wonderful son, Ben! A member of Shiloh Christian Church in her pre-college days, Katie has worked with several youth groups, church camps, and young adults. Katie also serves as Youth Ministry Director for the Christian Church In Georgia. We are excited that she is leading the youth of our church.
Teresa Harris Guthrie was born and raised in Watkinsville, Georgia. She has been playing the piano for Watkinsville First Christian Church for the past 20+ years.
Teresa Harris Guthrie has been the pianist at Watkinsville First Christian Church since 1975 and assumed the role of Music Director in 1995. She directs the adult and youth choirs and also the handbell choirs. She is also employed at The University of Georgia in External Affairs.
Teresa and her husband, Joe, reside in Watkinsville.

Mary Hoy Venable was born and raised in Spartanburg, South Carolina. She moved to Georgia in 1964 and became organist for Watkinsville First Christian Church in 1976.
Mary served as Music Director until she retired in 1990. She assumed the role of church organist, again, in June 1995.
Mary resides in Athens.
